野茶是武夷山最原生态、最有机的茶种，自古享有“万茶之源”之美誉。因为长年自然生长在武夷山的深山丛林中，海拔在1200至1800米之间，无法人工种植，采摘极为不便，故野茶的产量稀少。正是因为生长环境自然独特，野茶混合了多种不同的茶叶特征，给人一种很奇特的味道。用岩茶工艺加工的野茶，即属于岩茶中的奇葩。
